Blood of Christ, shed for you. When you drink it, drink it in remembrance of me.

When Hugues had been a child, he hadn't understood what it was that the Father had been trying to say or why the body and the blood of a stranger should matter to him. When he reacted in self defense one night and afthe lights finally came on, he saw a boy - just a boy - lying broken on his carpet, bleeding to death, he finally got it.

If someone asks Celosia what lies after death, she’ll have no answer. She doesn’t believe in God as much as she believes that it’s impossible for this world to be the way it is without someone having a private laugh out of it all. Hugues’ll go to heaven because he’s Hugues and Nik, lovable as he is, will be walking the road to hell. But Payne and her? They’re not a hundred percent evil as much as they are scarred although Payne does make a decent try at Nik's path. So they’ll be stuck in a lonely purgatory. Maybe that’s their punishment and blessing rolled up into one.

Because it’s not about whether or not Payne almost succeeded in breaking Nik’s wrist when he first grabbed her shoulder or if Cel turned blindly and locked lips with the wrong person after Hugues tapped her shoulder on the exact same place that Nik did. It’s not about how they opened the door to find Zane and Jesse calmly asking if they could possibly steal their showers for a few moments, drenched in someone else’s blood. It’s about how they all came together. It’s stupid and violent and insane but it’s their beginning, their genesis.
